Automation tools to improve the efficiency of screening studies for systematic reviews

BACKGROUND

Systematic reviews (SRs) are a great way to answer research questions. But they take a long time and are a lot of work. Fortunately, recent innovations can help with the conduct of SRs. One of these innovations is the creation of systematic review automation tools. Automation tools can be used to improve the speed of conducting SRs, without impacting their quality. Many systematic review automation tools have been developed by the Automation Team at the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare (IEBH) at Bond University.

This online workshop will introduce participants to the Systematic Review Accelerator (SRA), the suite of automation tools built at the IEBH.

OBJECTIVES

To gain practical experience using the SRA screening tools to more efficiently screen studies to determine if they are relevant for systematic reviews.

DESCRIPTION

The workshop will provide live demonstrations of the SRA tools used when screening studies. There will also be practical tutorials of the tools.

The SRA tools covered include:
1. RobotSearch
2. The Screenatron
3. The Disputatron

All tools are freely available via the SRA website: https://sr-accelerator.com/#/

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to use the SRA tools to efficiently screen studies for inclusion in a systematic review.
